Sizing Guidance & Proper Layering
-
Finding Your Fit: When determining your size, use exact body measurements, as Simms has already provided extra room for layering and natural movement within the sizing matrix. A correct fit goes a long way to extending the life of your wader.
-
The Danger of Jeans: Do not wear jeans under your waders, as denim is highly abrasive and wears on the technical material from the inside out.
-
Cotton Restriction: Cotton pants like jeans and sweatpants do not transfer moisture away from the body.
-
Technical Moisture Wicking: Utilizing proper performance layering under your waders will wick sweat away from your skin and assist in the wader's natural ability to breathe.
General Care, Washing & Maintenance
-
The #1 Longevity Tip: Drying your waders out thoroughly after each and every use is the most critical tip to prolonging their lifespan.
-
Drying Protocol: It is highly recommended to dry the inside first (if damp) and then proceed with the outside. When drying the exterior, pull your gravel guards up until the feet are dry, then flip them down to dry the rest of the wader.
-
Washing Instructions: Launder using a standard front-load machine or wash by hand. Use cold water and normal laundry detergent that does not contain bleach.
-
Dryer Warning: Never put your waders in a clothes dryer. The heat will adversely affect the internal seam tape and will completely void your manufacturer warranty.
-
Use a Mat: Always put your waders on using a protective changing mat to shield the delicate neoprene feet from sharp stones and rocks.
-
Vehicle Storage: Do not store your waders inside your car for long periods, as excess heat buildup will ruin the technical seals.
